BLee injured!

So BLee has hurt himself, has he? I read that the selectors are contemplating sending Ben Hilfenhaus over to NZ to act as cover, but I'm hoping that they opt for Clark or Tait instead. Realisticly, the young Hilfenstud is not going to play in the World Cup this year, so I'd rather he didn't fly over there to sit on the bench, while Tassie lose their star bowler for two weeks. Fuck the ACB. Fuck the WC. Fuck Brett Lee. What I want is Tasmania to win their next two games outright (preferably with an innings to spare in each), the Sheffield Shield final to be held at Bellerive, and then to sit in the rain for 5 days. I'd love Tassie to win it on the field, but I'm not taking that risk. A couple of hours play each day, and then rain will keep me happy.

Tim hates gays

Retired Miami Heat guard Tim Hardaway said Wednesday that he hates gay people, but later said he regretted the remarks. "You know, I hate gay people, so I let it be known. I don't like gay people and I don't like to be around gay people. I'm homophobic. I don't like it. It shouldn't be in the world or in the United States.'' Asked how he would interact with a gay teammate, Hardaway said: "First of all, I wouldn't want him on my team. And second of all, if he was on my team, I would, you know, really distance myself from him because, uh, I don't think that is right. I don't think he should be in the locker room while we are in the locker room.'' If he did find out that a teammate was gay, Hardaway said he would ask for the player to be removed from the team. "Something has to give,'' Hardaway said. "If you have 12 other ballplayers in your locker room that's upset and can't concentrate and always worrie

Annoying

I don't like the bloke, but by christ it's annoying that half the TBL contestents can't seem to say "Gerard". It's all "Jarred"  this, "Jarred" that. His name is "Gerard" people. It's not that hard. Bob, Steve Irwin Jr, Jillian and the other one seem to manage it alright.

Proud Father

As a new father, I can totally see this. Cheers to the bloke for sticking up for his daughter! "(AFP) - The father of a Qantas air hostess embroiled in a mile-high sex scandal with Hollywood heartthrob Ralph Fiennes has said colleagues who reported her were just jealous. Graham Robertson defended his daughter Lisa, 38, saying she was a "good kid", the Daily Telegraph said Thursday. "Lisa just does her job and if someone wants a cup of coffee and biscuits, she looks after them," he said. "She's not a bad looking girl. If you do the right thing people take a liking to you." Robertson said Qantas colleagues who reported seeing his daughter leaving the same toilet as Fiennes on a January 30 flight were "probably ugly as a hat full of arseholes and were just jealous."

Gerard

Gerard, way to go in making even more of an absolute dickhead of  yourself.  I understand why he gave in, it's clear that he's in line to be voted off by the blue team at first opportunity. But be a man about it and say "I'm going after immunity, I can't afford to promise to resist the temptation". But no, better to make an absolute dick of yourself, make a promise you never intended to keep, break it not once, not twice, but THREE times in ever more excruciating ways! I'm sure that the kids will be bound to be proud of their dad now. Although the positive aspect of the whole sorry scenario is that they will all be able to watch Gerard's glorious display of human weakness on that beautiful new wide-screen TV as one big happy family! And really, how much of an annoying prick must Gerard be in real life in order to be such a dead cert for voting off when there's a lazy, annoying bitch like Kelly in the team?

World Cup Squad

The Australia World Cup squad has been announced, and what can I say? I know it's probably no surprise that I'm disappointed! The squad: Ricky Ponting (capt), Adam Gilchrist (wk), Nathan Bracken, Michael Clarke, Brad Haddin (wk), Matthew Hayden, Brad Hodge, Brad Hogg, Michael Hussey, Mitchell Johnson, Brett Lee, Glenn McGrath, Andrew Symonds, Shaun Tait, Shane Watson. The fact that Voges, North, Ronchi or Hilfenhaus have not been given an extended run shouldn't surprise me, but I can't help feeling that each of these players would be far more helpful in the West Indies than an unfit Watson, an injured Symonds or an over-the-hill Hayden.

Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'

Young Henry is now able to roll over onto his tummy, and then back onto his back. Crawling is just a short time away!

Alex is gone...

He got the McCracken kiss of death and that bitch Courtney conspired to vote him off. I like The Biggest Loser and all, but all this bullshit survivor/BB crap is annoying. The point is supposed to be weight loss, and the fact that the two of the four fatties who voted him off seem to be lazy, insipid, useless types does not compel me to watch much more. Come on Greg, summon the wog boy within and go on to win the show!

NSW Selection Bias: In reply to Snooker

I was set the challenge to find some statistical evidence of NSW bias in the selection of Australian Test cricketers. I can’t seem to find a state-by-state breakdown of Test players, and couldn’t be arsed going through every one, so I’ve had to find a different way to establish it. I decided to have a look at state players who have amassed significant figures at the first class level, but did not get much of a run at the higher level, and see how players from NSW compared with players from elsewhere. I’m not claiming that each of these players SHOULD have got a greater run in tests, merely comparing how much of a go high run-scorers and wicket-takers have received in test cricket. Personally, I found the results surprising, and believe that they tend to support some sort of institutional bias towards NSW representatives. Even considering the factor of being the largest state with the most cricketers, I think that the statistical breakdown establishes a pretty convincing argument that p

One Day Final

Australia deserved to lose for bringing in that no hoper Watson for white, not playing hogg all series, and then deciding to use him in the finals. And how Hilfenhous didn't get an extended run in the side is beyond me. As the brother said, he'd have played every game if he was from Newcastle. North-West Coasters in the team, that's what we lack.

The Biggest Loser

Alright, I'm watching it again. I'm barracking for Alex and Greg, and hope that vicious little bitch Courtney gets what's coming to him. He's just nasty! And here's hoping Gerard is booted out sooner rather than later, he's just annoying.
