Did you hear about the jurisprudence fetishist? He got off on a technicality.

Another Moon (well, another photo of the same Moon). Sullivans Cove, Hobart. July 2013. Theme Thursday and the HEAT is on for me to get everything ready in time for Ezra's birthday!

Moonlight coldly calling me over the snow...

The Moon! The Moon , Gunnar Ekelof The moon passes her hand softly over my eyes, Wakes me long into the night. Lonesome among the sleepers, I lay wood on the fire, fuss about with smoking sticks, Move quietly among the shadows, shadows flapping high Above the brown logs, richly Decorated with glistening fish-lures... Why did I wake? Lonesome among the sleepers, Backs turned to the fire, I open the door quietly, Walk around the corner in the snow, tramp on the clumps, see Moonlight coldly calling me over the snow... Kuu. As seen from Geilston Bay, Tasmania. March 2013. I love the moon. It's great. I'm off to donate blood. Cities, like cats, will reveal themselves at night.

As you know, the Internet is a wonderful place filled with the rich and varied treasures of the world holds (and bacon.) The following are some things that I've had a look at in the last week. I call this: a Compendium of Click-throughs for Monday Morning... The public implications or pubic hair... A repository of Turkish recipes online... In search of a baby called Derek... A good little discussion and collection of photos in this little piece, The photographer’s war: Vietnam through a lens .

Thus mellow'd to that tender light / Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

Gute Nacht Mond. As seen from Sandy Bay. July 2012. Lord Byron was a filthy bugger. Even through he liked a swim, he never could wash that stink out... She walks in beauty, like the night , Lord Byron She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies, And all that's best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes; Thus mellow'd to that tender light Which heaven to gaudy day denies. One shade the more, one ray the less, Had half impair'd the nameless grace Which waves in every raven tress Or softly lightens o'er her face, Where thoughts serenely sweet express How pure, how dear their dwelling-place. And on that cheek and o'er the brow So soft, so calm, yet eloquent, The smiles that win, the tints that glow But tell of days in goodness spent, A mind at peace with all below, A heart whose love is innocent.

Life is never easy for those who dream.

Inspiration for Ezra's birthday cake. June 2010. A quick Sunday Top Five today, as we have Ezra's second birthday to host, but no doubt a controversial list! My Top Five Painters (Off The Top Of My Head)... Paul Klee Claude Monet J.M.W. Turner Wassily Kandinsky Natalia Goncharova

Informed decision-making comes from a long tradition of guessing and then blaming others for inadequate results.

The Moon as seen in the evening from a backyard in Geilston Bay in March, 2010. Like Henry, I am somewhat infatuated by the moon. One day, I shall like to visit the moon. Unlike Henry and Ezra, I don't envisage getting there in some kind of modified carrot.

The great artist takes what he needs.

There can be a solid argument made that the moon as viewed on Tasmania's north west coast is ideal for a zoomed photograph. I can almost see the cheese! I took this one in a paddock next to some Hereford cows one morning last week. While away, I will admit to enjoying the process of finding poems that I like and sharing them with you. Thus, my new series: Saturday Festival of *someone else's* Poetry ! Today, an oldie but a goodie... The Crazed Moon , by W.B. Yeats CRAZED through much child-bearing The moon is staggering in the sky; Moon-struck by the despairing Glances of her wandering eye We grope, and grope in vain, For children born of her pain. Children dazed or dead! When she in all her virginal pride First trod on the mountain's head What stir ran through the countryside Where every foot obeyed her glance! What manhood led the dance! Fly-catchers of the moon, Our hands are blenched, our fingers seem But slender needles of bone; Blenched by that malicious dream They ar...

The distinction between past, present, and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion.

Here is a shot atop Mount Wellington, looking west-nor'-west over the rather barren scenery. The harsh weather up there keeps a lid on most plant life, with small, hardy shrubs and mosses dominating. It gets rather wild and windy up there, and as noted earlier this year , it gets snow all year round. Time for Sunday Top Five! Today I am considering the Top Five Ten Tracks of the Noughties ! Thus, in no particular order and without doing a lot of thinking, here you are: Regina Spektor, Us Sufjan Stevens, Chicago The Shins, New Slang The Hives, Hate To Say I Told You So Wilco, Hummingbird Franz Ferdinand, Take Me Out Outkast, Hey Ya! Beyonce, Crazy in Love Alicia Keys, No One Wilco, Heavy Metal Drummer
