I wrote a poem

Experiment on the way home #1. Sandy Bay Road, Sandy Bay. July 2013. Here is a poem that I wrote in two minutes about another poem that I wrote in one minute. I consider it... ...an experiment. I Wrote A Poem , Kris McCracken I wrote a poem once. It was a good poem. A poem like no other poem you have never heard. The poem - that I wrote - a draft a play a practice exercise game. It was a good poem. But I threw it away. Experiment on the way home #2. Sandy Bay Road, Sandy Bay. July 2013.

Clevinger was dead. That was the basic flaw in his philosophy.

Walking home from work. St Davids Park, Hobart. June 2013. Wordless Wednesday. 10 Murray Street on acid. St Davids Park, Hobart. June 2013.

An original idea. That can't be too hard. The library must be full of them.

Mucking about in a pandani grove. Lake Dobson, Mount Field National Park. April 2013. And Then There Were None , Agatha Christie: I wonder why they changed the name? Red herrings galore, this one has a very elaborate set-up. B . Nowhere Man , Aleksandar Hemon: Displacement is never much fun. This novel explores that. I liked it. B .

Literature is strewn with the wreckage of men who have minded beyond reason the opinions of others.

Walking home in slow motion. East Derwent Highway, Geilston Bay. April 2013. The Indispensable Calvin and Hobbes , Bill Watterson: There is a lot of good stuff in this compendium, unfortunately it is a little marred by an uneven selection. B . The Map As Art: Contemporary Artists Explore Cartography , Katharine Harmon: A collection of work from contemporary artists who have utilised the idea of the map to express their vision. Using paint, food, salt, souvenir tea towels, nude bodies, and a whole lot more, you can see how artists have been able to explore a world free of geographical constraints. B- . Doctor Fischer of Geneva, or The bomb party , Graham Greene: A dark little exploration of greed, desperation and hatred. It's as bleak as all hell. B .

Martyrdom is the only way a man can become famous without ability.

Ezra is a little slow off the mark.

I stood and heard them; But they did say their prayers, and address'd them Again to sleep.” Now we break for a poem... Every people have gods to suit their circumstances.

Shutter speed slowed right down, with a twirl. Elizabeth Street Pier, June 2011. City lights. Street lights. Road signs. Cars cars cars. I rarely get the chance to muck about with the camera, but like to have a fiddle every now and then. I like to imagine that this one is really some kind of intergalactic speedway featuring all manner of Martians, Venusians, Mercurians, Uranuses and heaven knows who else ripped to the gills on membrosia and overtaken by a lust for competition. As always, it would end in tears and no little bloodshed.

I sit astride life like a bad rider on a horse. I only owe it to the horse's good nature that I am not thrown off at this very moment.

It’s becoming increasing more difficult to photograph Ezra without resorting to higher shutter speeds. This is manageable in the warmer months, but is more problematic in the cooler period of the year when the quality of the light decreases. Here and there the novel technique of moving at a similar pace beside the subject (who I believe is still ensconced in toddlerhood, but could be wrong) works, but without a camera dolly and sufficient track to go along with it; results are variable, at best.

A tragic situation exists precisely when virtue does not triumph but when it is still felt that man is nobler than the forces which destroy him.

The walk home from the bus stop can sometimes be difficult. East Derwent Highway, the Lindisfarne/Geilston Bay border. August 2010. Another day, another instalment, another experiment. 81. When truth is discovered by someone else, it loses something of its attractiveness.

The fountain in Salamanca Square up close and personal. May 2010. Crikey Moses it is cold this morning. The very heavy frost that is lurking about has mean that my fingers are struggling to hang out the four loads of washing done thus far. Yes, it is a cruel world. ‘He's clever,' thought Ivan,' I must admit there are a few bright ones among the intellectuals'

The gender tests are in, and unfortunately they have very much confirmed that Henry is indeed, a boy . His mother is said to be devastated. And he can keep his medal.

Action and reaction, ebb and flow, trial and error, change—this is the rhythm of living.

Here is bit an experiment with shutter speed, a zoom and a fast-running fountain. I think that in order to get the shot that I really envisaged, I need more light and a slower fountain. I used to write a lot of things down in these books that I had. I wouldn't call the journals as such, but I'd write things in there and draw stupid little pictures and occasionally paste in newspaper articles or cartoons or comics or pictures that drew my attention for some reason or other. Often I'd record overheard conversations or (often poorly) remembered snatches of conversation. I thought that in the spirit of experimentation, I'd dig something up. I did date it, and it was overhead in the winter of 1996, during a night on the tiles. You'd never guess: and it's the past - it's over - remember when - remember when? - remember that? - of course - i do - space and time - i do - worth it's weight - definitely - and it's there - there it is - but i can't tell yo...
