Moonlight coldly calling me over the snow...

The Moon! The Moon , Gunnar Ekelof The moon passes her hand softly over my eyes, Wakes me long into the night. Lonesome among the sleepers, I lay wood on the fire, fuss about with smoking sticks, Move quietly among the shadows, shadows flapping high Above the brown logs, richly Decorated with glistening fish-lures... Why did I wake? Lonesome among the sleepers, Backs turned to the fire, I open the door quietly, Walk around the corner in the snow, tramp on the clumps, see Moonlight coldly calling me over the snow... Why did I wake? Lonesome among the sleepers, Backs turned to the fire, I open the door quietly, Walk around the corner in the snow, tramp on the clumps, see Moonlight coldly calling me over the snow...

The most important thing in communication is hearing what isn't said.

Top of the World Henry. Top of the World.

Golf is more fun than walking naked in a strange place, but not much.

Leaving on a jet sea plane. In front of Mount Wellington, Hobart. December 2012. Theme Thursday today and it's all about the IMAGINATION. You know, IMAGINATION. Flying pigs. Alien abductions. Reward for merit. That kind of thing. Like this plane. Chartered by an "Ashok Kumar" out of the city of Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, the plane was loaded with a collection cheap plaster statutes of the oft-overlook Saint Chrysogonus. Naturally, people viewed Kumar's actions with suspicion. After all, what would the son of an impoverished street poori-sabji seller be doing shipping religious knick knacks at the arse end of the world? Despite what you might think, Ashok's motives were pure. Well, pure in the sense that love, lust and the desire to disrobe in front of the extraordinarily beautiful and nubile young seamstress from next door is an entirely reasonable motivating force in the life of any young man. Obviously, you need to shift an awful lot of curried treat...

Cities, like cats, will reveal themselves at night.

As you know, the Internet is a wonderful place filled with the rich and varied treasures of the world holds (and bacon.) The following are some things that I've had a look at in the last week. I call this: a Compendium of Click-throughs for Monday Morning... The public implications or pubic hair... A repository of Turkish recipes online... In search of a baby called Derek... A good little discussion and collection of photos in this little piece, The photographer’s war: Vietnam through a lens .

The propagandist's purpose is to make one set of people forget that certain other sets of people are human.

A natural bunker atop Mount Wellington is the ideal place to check out the latest inter-ballistic missile tests that we've been planning ever since Henry got that science kit last Christmas...

Children are educated by what the grown-up is and not by his talk.

One of the bonuses of the new place of work is that this park is a mere two minutes away (on foot)! As you can see, Henry now feels as if he owns the place.

Of all the things that drive men to sea, the most common disaster, I've come to learn, is women.

Hungry crocodiles...? Starving sharks...? Ravenous rats…? Famished fairy penguins…? What lurks beneath and causes Ezra’s telltale concern?

Metaphysics is a dark ocean without shores or lighthouse, strewn with many a philosophic wreck.

Six million, three hundred and thirty-three thousand, two hundred and eleven. Six million, three hundred and thirty-three thousand, two hundred and twelve. Six million, three hundred and thirty-three thousand, two hundred and thirteen. Six million, three hundred and thirty-three... Hang on a tic, we'll be here a while.

In a state where corruption abounds, laws must be very numerous.

Looking down the cantilever. Tahune Airwalk, September, 2010. For those not in the know, a cantilever is a beam supported on only one end. The beam carries the load to the support where it is resisted by moment and shear stress. Cantilever construction allows for overhanging structures without external bracing. If you've ever been on the three metre diving board, you will know what a mean. There's a bit of spring under foot and it sways in the wind. The photo below was taken 48 metres above the ground. The cantilever afford you an impressive view of the Picton and Huon Rivers, as well as the surrounding forest and mountains. Henry and Ezra loved the sensation. However, Jen was looking a little green after Ezra's attempt to get it pumping... The view from the cantilever, as the river forks in two. Tahune Airwalk, September, 2010.
