When angry, count to four; when very angry, swear.

Wineglass Bay lookout, Freycinet National Park. January 2014. Finally, a new Q and A! It's the Let Me Give Your Heart A Break Meme ... Do you prefer a lot of ice in your drinks or just a little bit of ice? Just a little, please. Which condiment (ketchup, mustard, etc.) do you use the most of? Mustard. Hot. Does war scare you? It equally troubles and fascinates me. Do you know any songs that are older than you are? Of course I do. What an odd question. The Beatles had been done and dusted for seven years by the time I arrived. Beethoven had been dead for 150 years. Are you comfortable sharing drinks with your friends? Not in the slightest. What season were you born in? Autumn, which is often associated with feelings of melancholy. The seemingly possibilities of summer have faded, and the threat of winter lurks ahead. Skies darken, and people turn inward, both physically and mentally. Have you ever spent over $100.00 on an article of clothing? What was i...

A man is already halfway in love with any woman who listens to him.

Friendly Beaches, you say?

It's difficult to speak with beautiful people. No matter how hard you try to pretend otherwise, you still want them to like you.

Coy? Moi?

I photograph to find out what something will look like photographed.

Morte. Wineglass Bay Beach, Freycinet National Park. January 2013. Theme Thursday and I WONDER ifyou, like me, WONDER much? I'm always WONDERing. I WONDER why I WONDER. Does everybody WONDER? Is there a point to WONDERing? Is it more a case of the mind at wander or the mind at WONDER? I WONDER...

I have lived in this world just long enough to look carefully the second time into things that I am most certain of the first time.

The Charles Atlas Way.

A conversation is a dialogue, not a monologue. That's why there are so few good conversations: due to scarcity, two intelligent talkers seldom meet.

PUSH!!!

The true business of photography is to capture a bit of reality on film… if, later, the reality means something to someone else, so much the better.

Wineglass Bay from the saddle, Freycinet National Park, Tasmania's East Coast. January 2013. Theme Thursday and if you have any SENSE, enough CENTS and a nose for SCENTS, you'd be heading down to Wineglass Bay. Wineglass Bay from the rocks, Freycinet National Park, Tasmania's East Coast. January 2013. Sure, you have to climb halfway up (two) mountains (and back down again), but the beach is worth it. If you're into SCENTS, nothing can beat the SCENT of clear, pristine and clean water when you're swimming (even if it is a mild 15°C). Wineglass Bay from the beach, Freycinet National Park, Tasmania's East Coast. January 2013. So come on, show some SENSE, starting putting aside your CENTS and get down here and have a crack at the SCENTS!

Do everything as in the eye of another.

Close to halfway to Wineglass Bay Beach, Ezra finds time to crack a smile.

About the most originality that any writer can hope to achieve honestly is to steal with good judgement.

Mt Amos. Taken from the saddle between Mt Amos and Mt Mayson, Freycinet National Park. January 2013. The Country Girls , Edna O'Brien: A lovely little coming of age story set in repressed 1950s Ireland and centring on two markedly different girls. This caused quite a stir on release and holds up very well fifty years later. Any time you hear that the Catholics are burning a book, it's worth looking into it. Entertaining. B+ . Mt Mayson. Taken from the saddle between Mt Amos and Mt Mayson, Freycinet National Park. January 2013.

We are all so much together, but we are all dying of loneliness.

Ezra's found lunch down at Wineglass Bay Beach!

Ah, love, let us be true / To one another!

Looking over Coles Bay. Freycinet National Park, Tasmania's East Coast. January 2013. So this photo was taken about one fifth of the way through our walk in the Freycinet National Park. Basically, you climb up through a pass halfway up two mountains, get your breath back, and then head down the (steeper) other side to find yourself on the beach down in secluded Wineglass Bay, which is generally accepted as one of the world's best beaches (photos to come). Dover Beach , Matthew Arnold The sea is calm tonight. The tide is full, the moon lies fair Upon the straits - on the French coast the light Gleams and is gone; the cliffs of England stand, Glimmering and vast, out in the tranquil bay. Come to the window, sweet is the night air! Only, from the long line of spray Where the sea meets the moon-blanched land, Listen! you hear the grating roar Of pebbles which the waves draw back, and fling, At their return, up the high strand, Begin, and cease, and then again begi...
