The new job of art is to sit on the wall and get more expensive.

Bass Strait. Somewhere up the path from Table Cape Lighthouse, Table Cape, Tasmania’s North West Coast. February 2012. This Watery Wednesday I must confess that I do like a nice cliff an expanse of open water. Very soothing. Very peaceful. We need more of it! I had thought that I left the world of interminable meetings behind. Alas, I was wrong. Note to self: must book more meetings to avoid more meetings.

True Story

I doubted her bold claims to being action oriented (given her [ahem] sturdy figure), but by golly, you should have seen her dive for that last piece of cake!

Nobody is forgotten when it is convenient to remember him.

Lately I have been trying to look at things from different angles. Here is a fan on the roof of a building opposite my office. It reminds me of Boba Fett , and without the deadly laser. I have written a poem inspired by a meeting that I attended yesterday. Steering Committee They are the ones that know , or should at least. They are the ones that can , or could at least. They are the ones that don't , they don't you know?

Metaphysics it is the science that studies a black cat, inside a dark room... that is not there

Here is an empty Salamanca Square as seen from above. At the back there should be a mountain, but the clouds decided to hide it for the day. I thought I'd share my notes from a meeting last week: talk. talk talk talk. blah blah BLAH blah blah. talk blah talk BLAH blah talk blah. BLAH blah BLAH BLAH BLAH blah blah BLAH BLAH. ner NER NER NER talk talk BLAH NER BLAH BLAH ner NER NER.

The fate of our times is characterized by rationalization and intellectualization and, above all, by the disenchantment of the world.

Meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings [repeat to fade]. Christmas time is here again and it seems that everybody (and their dog) wants to avoid any actual work and cram in as many meetings as possible. Like lemmings to a flame, they seem secure in the knowledge the holiday period will not satisfy their craving for inspiring [tedious] , engaging [pointless] , high-quality [ghastly] MEETINGS . Being an innovative and resourceful chap, I have already reflected upon this quandary. Out of this contemplation, I have set up a number of structures to meet the gaps that are evident in the upcoming few weeks. Accordingly, I have tabled a number of agendas as follows: Ezra will chair the Quality and Safety Committee. Henry will chair the Children’...

The use of history as therapy means the corruption of history as history.

It is Summer in Tasmania, and that usually means two thing: enormous cruiser liners filled with wealthy retirees kitted in gold lamé tracksuits dripping in diamonds; and rain, rain and even more rain . Take a look at these green leaves, can you tell that we're in a drought? I attended a VIM [ V ery I mportant M eeting] today. No cake, no biscuits, no fruit. Just business, and a few thirds of baguettes packed with salad presented lovingly on a platter caked with lettuce leaves. I wish that I had the nerve to take a photograph, but that would risk sending the dogs to the door of this blog, and I'm not sure that I'd want that just yet. You can always tell the difference between a VIM and a CAC [ C asual A ggreable C hat], and it can often be found in the nibblies. One organisation that I deal with regularly cater their CAC s with pizzza (an accommodating mob, they usually go a supremo and capricciosa, which allows me to be generous upon the appearance of that abomination...

Bugger the reform process, this has rocked the health and human services/community sector to its very core...
