We are the dancing queens...

Yesterday I expressed my fear that Henry and Ezra may drift into the hideous world of amateur theatre , primarily because they both are supremely talented singers, dancers and - most of all - drama queens. Now, I am hoping that their lust for the STAGE is just a STAGE, and that they'll settle down to non-theatrically based activities in the near future. Until then, we are left with scenes like this...

A work of art?

Following on from Henry's interpretation of Liszt's Années de Pèlerinage - as previously seen on this blog - Ezra joins him for a little duet. Aside from Ezra's masterful tinkling of the ivories, Henry showcases here a fine tenor. In fact, I dare say that he has inherited his mother's fine signing voice...

Screams of the damned?

Here is a treat for the Henry fans out there: the big little bloke screaming all the while on a swing! This one is fresh off the presses and was taken just yesterday morning, as we went on a long hike to give Ez a better chance of sleep.

Génie oblige!

Henry and I were doing our usual Saturday morning playgroup thing, and after a spot in the sandpit and a little splashing in some buckets full of water, I challenged him to a little duel. Essentially, we had a Liszt off . If you're not familiar with the term, it involves a little competitive tournament whereby willing contestants demand their opponents deliver their own interpretation of the work of the great Franz Liszt. Obviously, Henry and I are great fans for Herr Liszt, and often throw witty little Lisztisms (as we like to call them) back and forth when we're shooting the breeze. Yet it is the Liszt off that really counts. With the sort of temerity that renders most of my chess games brief, I threw Transcendental Etude No.5 ("Feux follets") at the recently turned two year old, figuring that his short wing span and much smaller fingers would render any comeback over before it began. How wrong I was. Bravely, he announced that it was his intention (the audacity )...

For the fan club...

So here is what the world has been waiting for, Henry and Ezra in another feature film. It's been some time since I've posted a video, primarily because of Henry's tendency to act the diva on set. We're talking about demands to catering for peeled grapes of at least eight varieties, abusing the best boy and assaulting the key grip, that kind of thing. Yesterday morning however, in the interest of keeping the global appreciation society, he agreed to partake in this brief shoot with his baby brother. Now don’t forget that the boundary-pushing antics as both (or Henry alone) that has been featured in numerous other videos, including: Nudity , in Ezra’s first ever bath ! Romance , as Henry and Ezra first meet ! Public interest , as Henry appears on WIN News ! Slapstick , in Henry falls over , again and again! Adventure , as Henry confronts the Campbell Town slide ! Horror , as we experience the terror of extreme hugs ! Saucy , as Henry does his best Marilyn Monroe ! Music ...

Jesus is just alright

Aararat’s finest , Freefalling, has asked for my opinion on Hillsong . As a fellow who professes no faith of a religious sort (but plenty in the potential goodness of rational thought), I feel that my best response is to restate that wouldn’t even consider attending the church until they book wonder band Sonseed. More via the Intertubes: I will add the comment that the Hillsong crowd, primarily young people, make me a little uncomfortable. Teens that embrace religion with unbridled enthusiasm independent of a) familial pressure; b) trauma of some kind; or c) chasing the hope of love (or something far filthier ) kind of freak me out. I've never had the call, so I'm probably not qualified to comment. I was always far more interested in footy, reading books, and looking at girls to go to reflect on my relationship with some allegedly omnipotent and omniscient being. Good luck to ‘em I guess, but I would remind them to please not go on and on and on about it. It’s boring and it...

Ezra's first bath

Here you go, Ezra's first bath from a couple of days ago... Asleep in the bath? No problem? Asleep all day? No problem? Sleep more than ten minutes at night without demanding mum's boobs? NEVER!
