Brawl with a pig and you go away with his stink.

Things are looking up. The corner of Campbell and Liverpool Streets, Hobart. September 2013. A long-delayed Q and A stolen again from Sunday Stealing. This time, Meme 325 ! Something that’s holding you back from achieving your dreams: Life! Something you think you could win an award for: Irritability. Something you fear more than anything: Caring what people think. Something you wish people would understand: That life would be much easier if they were a little nicer to each other. Something that keeps you going everyday: The promise of sleep. Something amazing that happened last Summer: Henry and I saw a foot-long weedy sea dragon while snorkelling at Opossum Bay. We were less than a metre away for a good couple of minutes. Something you hate that people say: The casual use of the word ‘bogun’ in work contexts. Something you refuse to pay money for: Friendship. Something you wish you could have told that person that you never saw again:...

Never trust a man who speaks well of everybody.

I've got the power! East Derwent Highway, Geilston Bay. December 2012. Theme Thursday ? FAITH?!?! Cripes. I have FAITH that Satan Claws will make it through and deliver us some presents... I have FAITH that at least one of my children will spend the bulk of the Christmas period moaning... I have FAITH that it will either a) rain on Christmas day (thus spoiling the planned beach picnic lunch) or b) it will be a splendid day but that I will have developed a cold/ strained another muscle/ develop a migrane... I have FAITH that someone will do something nice for someone somewhere in the World... I have FAITH that someone will treat someone incredibly bad somewhere in the World... I have FAITH that some good will come of it... I have FAITH that some bad will come of it... I have FAITH that the world will keep revolving...

Mediocre minds usually dismiss anything that reaches beyond their own understanding.

Not yet. Intersection of Golf Links Road and East Derwent Highway, Geilston Bay. September 2012. This week I finished Cop This Lot by 'Nino Culotta', the sequel to the hugely popular They're a Weird Mob . Largely the comic tale of rough-hewn Australian's abroad (in the early-1960s), like its predecessor it has aged surprisingly well. Worth a look. C+ .

Most truths are so naked that people feel sorry for them and cover them up, at least a little bit.

Anything that involves ‘celebrities’ or ‘dating’ or ‘dating celebrities’. 2. If you married the last person you texted, what would your last name be? What a profoundly stupid question. 3. Were you happy when you woke up today? No. I still felt sick. 4. When were you on the phone last? And with who? I rang Henry’s school to let them know that, like me and work, he was too sick to go in. 5. Who are you excited for? I am excited for Henry, who hopefully will receive some recognition for reading the most books of any Lindisfarne North Primary School student during the Premier’s Reading Challenge. 7. Honestly, who was the last person to tell you they love you? Ezra. He had just been told off, mind you. 8. What's the last thing you put in your mouth? A toothbrush. 9. Have a best friend? I married her. 10. Were you ever or are ...
