This will hurt me...

Another day, another boat. Here we have an Royal Australian Navy patrol boat parked in front of the Silo apartments that I've featured a few times before . I had my upper right molar removed yesterday. The extraction itself was fine, but by golly, trying to sleep with a mouth full of coagulating blood is a trick that I struggle with! Merry Christmas indeed...

This is a photo taken a month or so ago when the French Navy were in town. I can't remember the name, but it was something beginning with 'V'. The French Navy hasn't impressed me since they were trounced at Trafalgar, to be honest. I mean really, when your greatest triumph is scuttling your own ships in harbour so that the Vichy regime couldn't pass them over to the Nazis, I'd suggest that triumphs are a little thin on the ground!

Here is the Royal Australian Navy Armidale Class Patrol Boat HMAS Larrakia sunning herself down in Salamanca yesterday morning. Such craft represent the Navy's principal contribution to the nation's fisheries protection, immigration, customs and drug law enforcement operations, and also contibute in the more traditionally associated naval areas of competitive shagging and general day-to-day buggery.

The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) long-range frigate HMAS Warramunga has been in Hobart this week, and I managed to take a snap of her while leaving work last Thursday (these ships generally berth right across the road from my office). Warramunga is capable of air defence, surface and undersea warfare, surveillance, reconnaissance and interdiction. Their website tells me that her main armament comprises one 127 mm gun capable of firing 20 rounds per minute, ship launched Mk 46 torpedoes and a Mk 41 vertical launch system for the Evolved Sea Sparrow point defence missile. There is no word on whether or not they paid any parking fees. I would wager few parking officers would stick their hands up to collect.
