Pain - has an element of blank -

Straight lines. Table Cape, Tasmania's North West. February 2012. Emily Dickinson makes her first appearance and the boys and I wonder what we are going to do this weekend while Jen is out and about in Melbourne... Pain - has an element of blank (650) , Emily Dickinson Pain - has an element of blank - It cannot recollect When it began - or if there was A time when it was not - It has no future - but itself - Its infinite realms contain Its past - enlightened to perceive New periods - of pain.

Action and faith enslave thought, both of them in order not be troubled or inconvenienced by reflection, criticism, and doubt.

There are patterns everywhere you look. Bellerive Beach, December 2010. As summer rolls around again, there are a number of things that I look forward to. Today's Sunday Top Five lists a few of them: Five Things I Like About Summer ! Trips to the beach! Well, you can go to the beach in winter too, but frolicking in the water is a little less fun... A few days off! A few days away from work never hurts. Presents! Satan Claws will visit soon, and who doesn't like getting new stuff? Fruit! Even though we are a global village these days, nothing beats the range of Tasmanian summer fruit and berries that become available. Less clothes! I hate being covered up. It's easier to get away with less on when the heat is on.

Friendship may, and often does, grow into love, but love never subsides into friendship.

Climb at your own risk. New Town Road, New Town, December 2010. If you are a fan of lines in photographs, you could do worse than stand under one of these snapping away for a few minutes. In fact, after staring at this photograph for ninety seconds, I think that I have spotted a Desargues configuration. Have a close look… If A.a, B.b, C.c are concurrent , then (A.B) ∩ (a.b), (A.C) ∩ (a.c), (B.C) ∩ (b.c) are collinear ! Ain’t geometry grand?

Without contraries is no progression. Attraction and repulsion, reason and energy, love and hate, are necessary to human existence.

One does love a nice pattern in life. Here you can see some of the LEGO metal structures that go into making a rock concert work. I like how they've painted the metal a nice bright silver, it almost makes you forget that they're a bunch of dirty, greasy poles!

(My) Photo of the day, Or, On the natural wonders of Geilston Bay

I have had an extraordinarily busy day today, so I've had to dig into the grab bag of pictures and fished out this summer shot of a creature slowly moving across our backyard. Somehow Jen conjured up this varmint out of a couple of balls of wool. Unfortunately, she'll have to be punished for such witchcraft. UPDATE If you have clicked on the comments, you will note that Jen has posted a link to the pattern for this turtle. I thought that it might be best to bring this into the post itself. So, as my lovely and talented wife has pointed out, anyone interested in knitting their own turtle can find the free pattern here !
