'Tis not every question that deserves an answer.

Man is not what he thinks he is, he is what he hides.

Inspired by Sunday Stealing , I'm continuing the new year festivities with a list of things I'm trying in 2016! A bad habit I'm going to break is not stretching enough before bedtime. A new skill I'd like to learn is cutting my own hair. A person I'd like to be more like is Primo Levi. Even when life was at its very nadir, and he was less than a slave in Auschwitz, he could see the power that each and every individual retained: the power to refuse our consent. A good deed I'm going to do is most likely one done without mentioning it. A place I'd like to visit is the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove in Kyoto. A book I'd like to read is Julian Barnes’ latest novel, The Noise of Time . A letter I'm going to write is going to be at least 145 pages long. A new food I'd like to try is a proper tom yum goong. I'm going to do better at cooking stir fry.

A brave new world

A Brave New World. It turns out that he was really a girl, and she was at heart a boy. Naturally, this meant things became complicated reasonably quickly. Rather than get caught up in the “He said, She said” (or, for that matter, the “(S)he said, s He said”), they agreed upon a catch up to clear the air. “What do you want to do?”, He said. “What do you want to do?”, She said. “I need coffee”, She said. He nodded, and she sighed. “I don’t really like the coffee here”, He said. So She took her bag and left.

Happy New Year Everybody!

Ein glückliches neues Jahr! Feliz año nuevo! Stastny Novy Rok! Chuc mung nam moi! Xin nian yu kuai! Akemashite Omedetou Gozaimasu! Barka da sabuwar shekara! Shuvo noboborsho!

I feel that if a person has problems communicating the very least he can do is to shut up.

It really has been one of those weeks. Bring on the Darleks, I say...
