How many a man has dated a new era in his life from the reading of a book.

I couldn't decide between these two pictures, so I've posted both. Henry and Ezra are already book addicts. In fact, Henry churns through no less than ten a day, usually far more.

Indeed, I am starting to worry that we will run out of books to read at the State Library. I'm even trying to get Henry into the Russians, as some of those weighty tomes should slow him down long enough to allow all those authors out there to rush out more books.

That's fantastic! There is no greater start than to read. I find this post really uplifting. Keep reading! Maybe you can swap books with other mums and dads too? I know I used to do that.

Let us know when Henry has finished War and Peace. ;-)

It's wonderful when kids LOVE to read.

ilove the look from the younger one .. play meditation .in a good way
Both images are lovely. Undoubtedly, you have managed to capture the moment of reading. In the second picture seems Ezra was listening carefully to Henry.

Great pictures of lovely kids, The love of books is one you should be happy of, nothing better then a child reading and learning all that the world has to offer.

Thanks for stopping by at Lahore Daily and the warm welcome back.
Great photos of the kids and good for Henry that he already ploughs through books. Ezra already looks interested too!!

Are the t-shirts and green cardi Jen's handiwork?
Great photos
Your kids are obviously far too bright to be on this planet. Reading books at all nevermind so young seems to be an oddity.

I love both pictures - Ezra's gummy grin in the first one, and Henry's concentration in the second. They're both so gorgeous!

Henry's hair seems to be getting lighter. Is it from the summer sun? In any case, these are priceless images.

gorgeous photos. Ezra looks so calm, laying next to his big brother, and I love his gummy smile.

They looks like they are having an idyllic time.

Lynn, Henry just can’t get enough of them. He’s even stopped wrecking them in his enthusiasm. Which is a good thing.

YEGTG, he will probably beat me to it!

Picture to words, he is good with the smile, old Ezra!

MurciaDailyPhoto, Ezra is also well mannered. Henry, less so.

Destitute Rebel, we are very happy Henry is so keen. He had little choice though as he’s surrounded by books.

It’s good to see you back!

Blognote, they both like to hear a tale or two.

Tania, Ezra’s t-shirt and cardie is. Henry’s was a handmade gift from a friend.

Babooshka, there are a lot of good kids books out there, I have been pleasantly surprised. Some great artwork in them for sure.

The words are still some way off, but Henry has a keen eye for detail and recognises so much. I have no doubt that the constant exposure is pumping up that vocabulary. Now we just need him to quieten down a bit!

Jackie, I did like both a lot, that’s why I had to post them, even though Henry has his Myra Hindley hair on in the top one, Ezra’s grin cannot be denied!

Elaine, it seems to change by the day. It was very dark yesterday afternoon.

FF, they do make excellent models. I should rent them out.

Kitty, Ez is the calm one, that’s for sure.

Henry bit him on the head yesterday morning. Plus he slobbers all over him to. Ez just smiles through it all.

If you want to be loved, be lovable.

Henry admires the view.

Zeal, n. A certain nervous disorder afflicting the young and inexperienced. A passion that goeth before a sprawl.

Here I have tried my hand at the homemade sepia-toned photo. I wasn’t happy with the way that the sun had washed out some of the colours in the original, so had a bit of a fiddle because I like the look on Henry’s face, and didn’t want to pass on posting it. I have a tip for those of you burdened with the great, unceasing weight of parenthood. I have a new recipe, in the vein of the quick microwaved chocolate cake . Get this, microwaved potato chips . I gave them a run on Sunday, Henry liked the so much I did it again last night. Tonight, I shall be experimenting with sweet potato. I think that the ground is open for me to exploit opportunities in the swede, turnip, carrot and maybe even explore in the area of pumpkins. Radical, I know. I’m a boundary-pusher by nature. It's pretty simple, take the potato. Slice it thinly (it doesn't have to be too thin, but thin enough). Lay the slices on the microwave plate, whack a bit of salt over the top and nuke the buggers for five minut

Ah, Joe, you never knew the whole of it...

I still have the robot on the job. Here you can see the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery . And here is a poem: Soliloquy for One Dead Bruce Dawe Ah, no, Joe, you never knew the whole of it, the whistling which is only the wind in the chimney's smoking belly, the footsteps on the muddy path that are always somebody else's. I think of your limbs down there, softly becoming mineral, the life of grasses, and the old love of you thrusts the tears up into my eyes, with the family aware and looking everywhere else. Sometimes when summer is over the land, when the heat quickens the deaf timbers, and birds are thick in the plumbs again, my heart sickens, Joe, calling for the water of your voice and the gone agony of your nearness. I try hard to forget, saying: If God wills, it must be so, because of His goodness, because- but the grasshopper memory leaps in the long thicket, knowing no ease. Ah, Joe, you never knew the whole of it... I like Bruce Dawe. He just my be my favourite Austral
