So here is what the world has been waiting for, Henry and Ezra in another feature film. It's been some time since I've posted a video, primarily because of Henry's tendency to act the diva on set. We're talking about demands to catering for peeled grapes of at least eight varieties, abusing the best boy and assaulting the key grip, that kind of thing. Yesterday morning however, in the interest of keeping the global appreciation society, he agreed to partake in this brief shoot with his baby brother. Now don’t forget that the boundary-pushing antics as both (or Henry alone) that has been featured in numerous other videos, including: Nudity , in Ezra’s first ever bath ! Romance , as Henry and Ezra first meet ! Public interest , as Henry appears on WIN News ! Slapstick , in Henry falls over , again and again! Adventure , as Henry confronts the Campbell Town slide ! Horror , as we experience the terror of extreme hugs ! Saucy , as Henry does his best Marilyn Monroe ! Music ...

Did you know that the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) can dish out a PG-13 rating for a movie that features an "intense depiction of very bad weather"? Well it can. All Movie has an entertaining little article today on some interesting wording choices by the ratings board when rating films. Thus, rather than a simple but bland "containing violence", the MPAA allows for a bit of flair to warn viewers that the classic 3 Ninjas Knuckle Up doesn't just feature any old violence, rather "non-stop ninja action". And after reading that, I want to now see the Ivory and Merchant biopic on Thomas Jefferson, Jefferson in Paris . I mean, it's far too rare an event these days to see a good, old-fashioned bawdy puppet show ! Bawdy enough to rate a PG-13.

I see that Lars von Trier has stepped away from making films for the time being. Thank god for that, for me, his films somehow manage to combine the worst excesses of ‘arthouse’ pretentiousness, wankiness of theatre and reductive nonsense that is just so mind numbingly dull of so much ‘European’ mediation on ‘America’ lately. A quick rundown of the movies that I've seen: Dogville , Manderlay and Dancer in the Dark fit the rant below, in my eyes. I’ll be honest though and admit that I couldn’t finish watching the first two of that list (life is too short). The Idiots was just dire. A bad film school experiment, European middle class-guilt nonsense. Zentropa / Europa was a more interesting visual experiment, but again, more ‘art’ than ‘cinema’ (in the bad way). Breaking the Waves I liked. The main character was annoying, but as a bit of melodrama wrapped up in art, it was easy to sit through and have a think about.
