I don't have anything to say in any picture. My only interest in photography is to see what something looks like as a photograph. I have no preconceptions.

Ah, love, let us be true / To one another!

Looking over Coles Bay. Freycinet National Park, Tasmania's East Coast. January 2013. So this photo was taken about one fifth of the way through our walk in the Freycinet National Park. Basically, you climb up through a pass halfway up two mountains, get your breath back, and then head down the (steeper) other side to find yourself on the beach down in secluded Wineglass Bay, which is generally accepted as one of the world's best beaches (photos to come). Dover Beach , Matthew Arnold The sea is calm tonight. The tide is full, the moon lies fair Upon the straits - on the French coast the light Gleams and is gone; the cliffs of England stand, Glimmering and vast, out in the tranquil bay. Come to the window, sweet is the night air! Only, from the long line of spray Where the sea meets the moon-blanched land, Listen! you hear the grating roar Of pebbles which the waves draw back, and fling, At their return, up the high strand, Begin, and cease, and then again begi...

You may be normal, darling; but I'd rather be natural.

Strike a pose!

I realised that the purpose of writing is to inflate weak ideas.

I'm not certain that it's still on the market. Macquarie Street, South Hobart. January 2013. The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde , Robert Louis Stevenson: Madness! A nice exploration of Victorian social hypocrisy with the dichotomy of outward respectability and inward lust. I also enjoy the fact that I am reading a book by the same author as Henry. B . The Glass Key , Dashiell Hammett: An enjoyable romp with convoluted set up and a sufficiently colourful cast of rapscallions, brigands and ne'er-do-wells. Not Hammett's finest writing though. Really, any time a character says something "carelessly" "cautiously" or "callously" nine times on a page, time to get a new editor! B .

I don't care what anybody says about me as long as it isn't true.

All I need to do is Photoshop in some great big explosions and cars flying about in the background and this photograph is complete...

You’ve got to deal with how photographs look, what’s there, not how they’re made.

I need to shave. Home, Geilston Bay. January 2013. Theme Thursday and CHOCOLATE does not do it for me. Foot rubs, good reads, back rubs, long walks, short runs, nice swims, sightseeing tours, games of snap, making love, taking photos, cooking dinner, decent music, stupid jokes, Wii Fit, kicking footies; you know, that kind of thing.

Every guilty person is his own hangman.

No Mr Henry... It is time to die!

One of the disadvantages of wine is that it makes a man mistake words for thoughts.

Tranmere, as seen from Sandy Bay. January 2013. Wordless Wednesday.

There are two kinds of weakness, that which breaks and that which bends.

Wombat stew?

Modesty and unselfishness - these are the virtues that men praise - and pass by.

We're struggling. Mawson's Place, Argyle Street, Hobart. January 2013. As you know, the Internet is a wonderful place filled with the rich and varied treasures of the world holds (and RSS feeds.) War: a massacre of people who don't know each other for the profit of people who know each other but don't massacre each other.

Good snorkelling. Bicheno Beach, Tasmania's East Coast. January 2013. Sunday Top Five ? Okay. See the picture above?
