Showing posts with the label the whole world smiles with you

The best thing about animals is that they don't talk much.

It's a good thing that Ezra is standing in the munitions bay of Alexandra Battery, because this kid truly is dynamite .

Man knows much more than he understands.

I hope that the dimples never fade away...

Between saying and doing, many a pair of shoes is worn out.

Training for the 100-yard smile for London 2012 is going along well. This doping-testing regime is a little strenuous though...

To endure is the first thing that a child ought to learn, and that which he will have the most need to know.

In his best John Inman... I'M FREE!

Art is anything you can get away with.

Ezra is an interesting fellow at the moment. We can’t pass any kind of statue, monument or shrine without him wanting to climb up on top and be photographed. It’s an urge that I understand all too well, unfortunately to crushing weight of civility stops me from hopping up on too…

Friendship is Love without his wings!

Right Ez, I just need you to give me the biggest smile you can… SNAP!

All movements go too far.

This photograph would make an excellent passport picture for the big little man. I figure that there is no way in the world that airport authorities could ever mistake him for a terrorist.

It is always good men who do the most harm in the world.

No, he isn't drunk.

If you fell down yesterday, stand up today.

Two for the price of one, and yet again I cannot decide between black and white and colour. YOU decide!

Man knows much more than he understands.

What causes such a smile? The hand-knitted jumper? The home-made mittens? The come-to-bed eyes? The rakish part of the hair? You decide!

The gods look in pleasure on penitent sinners.

He looks very young here! This one was taken way back in January as we rode the rails up at Don River. Check out the grin.

Ignorance is the parent of fear.

Ezra did his bit for the world today, with two vaccinations - chicken pox and swine flu - to give YOU [and me and Henry and Jen and your kids and their kids and their kids etc etc] safety from a number of preventable, but potentially deadly, diseases. Jen and I joined him in the fight against tetanus and whooping cough (plus swine flu); and Henry (a long supported of vaccination) went with the swine flu on his own. If the little grinning bloke above can do it, you can too! [I have spoken about this before , of course ...]

Break the skin of civilization and you find the ape, roaring and red-handed.

While journeying through the magnificent north west coast of Tasmania (the greatest coast in the known universe), we happened upon one of the world's great rail journeys: the Orient Express Don River Railway ! As you can see, Ezra spent a portion of his trip working on his dimples.

A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep.

How about that smile? I'm considering entering him the the 200 metre smile at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi...

Children begin by loving their parents; after a time they judge them; rarely, if ever, do they forgive them.

If is is true that a picture speaks a thousand words , what is this picture saying?

Only exceptionally rational men can afford to be absurd.

It's hard work being a vampire: sucking blood; laughing maniacally; seducing virgins; picking cotton. Sometimes you just need a break...

We must be very careful when we give advice to younger people: sometimes they follow it!

Some people say that it's the dimples that make the smile. Personally, I reckon that it's the eyes .

Philosophy, n. A route of many roads leading from nowhere to nothing.

It is a very fine line between cheeky and obnoxious . Like Johnny Cash before him, Henry has chosen to walk the line .

Don't wait to be hunted to hide, that's always been my motto.

This one is just a few days old. Only managed to get on to look at the camera, however. Guess who got the sultanas...

Peace begins with a smile

Sometimes the sign of new little teeth can light up the world at a time that it needs it. Here is Henry doing his best to get his little brother to smile. He had great success. I'm thinking of taking Ezra out on tour to smile at people. It seems to help.
