Showing posts with the label gross

Injustice is relatively easy to bear; what stings is justice.

So yeah, there is a bit of dried snot, crumbs and a chunk of ham on him. Granted, that's a bit gross. He's still cute though.

The Bird of Time has but a little way to flutter — and Lo! the Bird is on the Wing

Here is a bloody great big clock that can be found at the top of the General Post Office building in Hobart's CBD. I've shown it twice before, although both were night shots , the second showcasing Hobart's crepuscular beauty (did you see what I did there?). It's a good looking building, only slightly marred by the constant presence of smokers all down the footpath directly out front, and steps leading in. I am not a fan of smokers. A particularly nasty sub group are the smoker-spitters. The smoker-spitter is the fellow that you imagine doesn't like the taste much, so alternatively sucks long and deep on his gasper, exhales, and then summons up all the crap that has built up in his lungs and beyond and spits it out, usually right in front of him. Nice, I know. Ezra just farted.

Food that is dying to be eaten

I came across this photograph of a sign while browsing through teh Internets today. I do love an image that can be terribly grusome, yet rather cute at the same time. It reminds me of an image in one of my all-time favourite ads that has been previously featured on this site. Regular commentator and all round good guy the Political Ump mentioned on the original post how the pig with the samurai spirit reminded him of the sickeningly pleasant bovine bred to willingly and happily suicide in order to feed the guests in Douglas Adams's Restaurant at the End of the Universe . He's right, and now there is a whole website dedicated to such animals, the aptly titled Suicide Food , for hundreds of grisly yet happy pictures, pop on over and have a look. [Tip of the hat to Boing Boing for alerting me to this one.]

I’m glad Steve’s doing it

Stumbled across a blog that I'm currently enjoying very much, Steve Don't Eat It! Essentially, it amounts to some bloke named Steve who has decided to eat things that he is aware of, but would not normally try. He records his experience for us, the general public. I am currently up to Volume 7 ( Cuitlacoche , a black fungus that infects corn) and perversely enjoying his accounts very much. If you're into this sort of thing, well worth a look. And Steve, please keep eating it!
