Freedom is always and exclusively freedom for the one who thinks differently.

The future is ahead...

I want 'em real thick and juicy

Sunrise. The Burnie-Ridgley area, Tasmania's North West. February. Is rap/hip hip-hop a modern form of performance poetry? I believe that it is. Proof? This! Baby Got Back , Sir Mix-a-Lot I like big butts and I can not lie You other brothers can't deny That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist And a round thing in your face You get sprung, wanna pull out your tough 'Cause you notice that butt was stuffed Deep in the jeans she's wearing I'm hooked and I can't stop staring Oh baby, I wanna get with you And take your picture My homeboys tried to warn me But that butt you got makes me so horny Ooh, Rump-o'-smooth-skin You say you wanna get in my Benz? Disco dancing is just the steady thump of a giant moron knocking in an endless nail.

Off to feed the ducks. And a few geese. As well as the odd native hen.

It isn't what they say about you, it's what they whisper.

Caution: Nick Drake fan on the loose. Salamanca Place, Salamanca. February 2012. Two books finished this week, both decent. First up is Austrian/German Daniel Kehlmann's Me and Kaminski . An exploration into the concept of artistic genius, this is a surprisingly bleak book. Ultimately, some not very likeable characters irritate each other in the pursuit of their own self-interest (but that interest largely rests on what another can do for them). An odd road trip eventuates that features an incredibly narcissistic 31-year-old journalist/ wannabe biographer and the decrepit (almost) forgotten painter. I liked you, you might too. Recommended. Second up is Italian Alessandro Baricco's Silk . A short and lyrical tale of desire that is structured around a wandering French silk breeder and his illicit ventures to Japan alone in search of disease-free silkworms, it explores the concepts of love and desire in a very subdued way. Stylistically reminiscent of an old-fashioned fable, I sus

As in an explosion, I would erupt with all the wonderful things I saw and understood in this world.

The best part of this summer? No sunburn!

When everything is easy one quickly gets stupid.

The dead centre of town. Cornelian Bay Cemetary, Cornelian Bay (as seen from Derwent Avenue). February 2012. Theme Thursday today and more and more pointless meetings mean that I am now seeing DOUBLE. Why DOUBLE? Well, I can't be sure, but I suspect that has something to do with the brick walls that I have been head-butting...

All men have an instinct for conflict: at least, all healthy men.

I like to call this Big Henry in Blue .

The new job of art is to sit on the wall and get more expensive.

Bass Strait. Somewhere up the path from Table Cape Lighthouse, Table Cape, Tasmania’s North West Coast. February 2012. This Watery Wednesday I must confess that I do like a nice cliff an expanse of open water. Very soothing. Very peaceful. We need more of it! I had thought that I left the world of interminable meetings behind. Alas, I was wrong. Note to self: must book more meetings to avoid more meetings.

Revolutions are always verbose.

A very cool Ezra rides some wallabies...

A good man can be stupid and still be good. But a bad man must have brains.

Jen and Hen take an eye quiz halfway up the Nut! The Nut, Stanley, Tasmania's North West Coast. February 2012. Tuesday Q and A and we continue to trawl our way through The 99'er Meme: Part 3 . This week, no celebrity 'dating' question! 51) Do you tend to hold grudges against people who have done you wrong? Absolutely. One tries not to dwell on it, but of course I begrudge when people get away with something shocking… 52) What is your astrological sign? Taurus. It must be all nonsense though, because they reckon that I must be stubborn and ferocious in my anger ! 53) Do you save money for anything? What? I like to keep a buffer there for whatever might be needed. Never let that number anywhere near zero is my philosophy. 54) What's the last thing you purchased? Shoes and shorts. 55) Have you ever had a relationship that you realised was lust not love? I’ve never confused anything else with love. 56) In a relationship? Yes. 57) How many relationships have you had? No

That's metaphysics, my dear fellow. It's forbidden me by my doctor, my stomach won't take it.

You might not believe this, but as I took this photo we were being approached by a marauding gang of bloodthirsty sheep.

When a government spends, its citizens eventually pay, either today or tomorrow...

The Blacksmith Shop. Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Inveresk. February 2012. Here, amidst the array of forges, hammers, furnaces and the earthen floor, it becomes possible to comprehend the raw energy and forces of the Industrial Revolution. A walkway guides you through this unique experience with the voices of workers and sounds of machinery. Combine this with the WhistleStop Tour where you'll see a blacksmith at work with furnace fired and machinery powering and this unique experience becomes one of sight, sound and smell. The Internet is a wonderful place filled with the rich and varied treasures of the world holds (as well as dancing hamsters.) The following are some things that I've had a look at in the last week. I call this: a Compendium of Click-throughs for Monday Morning ... Mapping global stereotypes... Are we surprised that Welthauptstadt Germania ['World Capital Germania'] - Hitler's wildly ambitious plan for a postwar rebuilding of Berlin - di

In the carriages of the past you can't go anywhere.

Some days Ezra just doesn't give a damn...

Experience without theory is blind, but theory without experience is mere intellectual play.

All disabled people must climb up unaided... Mayfair Plaza Car Park, Sandy Bay. February 2012. Sunday oh Sunday. I need a top five, and I need it fast!
