There is one pastime that is making extreme headway into our present lives - for both Henry and Ezra - that is, of course, puzzles . Here Henry reconstructs Africa for us, mired deep in the Congo Basism trying to sort out the difference between São Tomé and Príncipe and Gabon . Dare I say it, but our Henry already has a firmer grasp on geography than 98% of adult Australians!

I am happy to admit that I don't really get this one. I’ve run through a variety of options, but don’t feel that I am any closer to answering the puzzle. A circle? Too obvious. A parallelogram? It has potential, but too obscure. A fish? A table? A remaindered piece of fabric faded by exposure to sunlight for sustained periods? The choices appear too endless to contemplate. If I disappear down that road trying to solve this conundrum, I’ll not have any time for any thought beyond this thought. Is that what they mean? Some devious plan hatched by modern day anarcho-syndicalists designed to cripple (ostensibly) free thinkers like myself? If I’m spending all of my time thinking about what I need to be thinking outside of, I am thus far less likely to be thinking about how I can prevent the overthrow of all that I hold dear by a bunch of cunning shysters. This thinkin' business is hard work. Answers on a postcard will be most welcome.

I did promise to reveal the meaning to "Akili ni nywele, kila mtu ana zake", but forgot. As figured out by Priyanka Khot in the comments, it indeed talks about hair and intelligence. Literally, the quote is "intelligence is like hair, everyone has their own type". I choose to interpret it as, "just as there are lots of types of haircuts, there are lots of types of intelligence". Thus, if someone thinks that they are better than others simply because they think that their particular set of opportunities, beliefs or knowledge is the be-all and end-all, get over yourself, there are all sorts of 'smarts'. I think that there is something in that for all of us.
