And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by.

This one is from a few weeks back and involved me on the ground, the Aurora Australis in the foreground, and the Diamond Princess in the background. The bird I didn't spot until post-production.

Here is a poem.

a poem

an incident of
indecent
actions, activities and understandings
can
mean something
or
mean nothing
to others.

it is
all
about
where you stand,
or
whether you sit.

I only see one big boat (well, cruise or whatever they are called). Where do you see two for all foreground/background?

KL, the red platform at the bow of the cruise ship is the stern of Australias ice breaker Aurora Australis. Thus two ships.

KL, the know-it-all in the next picture trumped me!

Oh BOATS! Great to see some big ships again.

Thank you very much Roddy. You really know how to answer nicely to questions unlike....

KL, don't feed his ego.

Kris, sorry for taking the wind from your sails. I must remember that it is your blog.
Very cool picture, impressive.
I had to go back and study this to make out the second boat.

Roddy, now, it’s EVERYBODY’s blog. I am just the king.

Mary, I was on my hands an knees because there was a mesh fence in the way.
Kris McCracken said…
Mary, in due fairness, it doesn’t look much like a boat from this angle. That’s where they store the helicopter.

Good observation, that indeed is the helideck.
Lower right corner, you can see a mooring line. Used for tying ships to wharves for the uninitiated.
Security fences certainly are a challenge.

Yes, Kris but we are high up in the mountains. No sea, no ships. I like mountains too.

Roddy, I have some more photos because they left the gate open yesterday!

Carola, have you seen Fitzcarraldo?
Carola said…
No, I haven't seen this film. But just read the description. Sonds intersting. I think I will see it when I'm back in Germany.
We are on the way north to china.

Carola, it is slow, but worth it!
