Young men think old men are fools; but old men know young men are fools.

While on a jaunt to meet the bigwigs at HQ, I spotted this odd bit of graffiti on their sign right at their very front door.

Despite my firm opposition to vandalism - outside of the Silesian region of Central Europe around 400 A.D. - I am almost able to endorse this as a mark of oddball genius. Alas, the use of "thru" compels me to dismiss the author as a nong.

I grew up learning British English. Then, I had to learn American English. Now I am learning Australian English :-D.

Hey! "thru" is a shorter, quicker way to write "through." I do that sometime in a hurry and I am no nong or gong or hong or kong or whatever....it is especially useful while writing text messages. Thus, I revolt against such slurs for us "thru-writers" :-P.....

Now let me hear.............

Maybe there just wasn't enough room for through so thru had to do. What is a "nong" anyway?

I use "thru" only for personal notes. Anything someone else will see is "through." Kind of creative "tho."

KL, this is public communication. It thus warrants a judgement of "nong".

Reyjr, maybe he was talking about a dog. That'd be kind of gross...

Frank, a "nong" is like a "galah".

Rhonda, I do like the use of a sticker.

Why didn't you say dill or goose? Only a dubbo would misunderstand this.
Sorry to all non Aussies.
