Bob Woolmer

From Peter Roebuck's SMH column today:

“To a greater and lesser degree all sportsmen die in hotels. That night Woolmer went to his room with its silences and accusing walls, an isolated figure trying to come to terms with futility.

Britain's Daily Mirror said his death was caused by an overdose of prescription medicine and alcohol, but his family pointed to stress.”

If that is the case, how depressing. He shouldn't have expected any more of the Pakistan cricket team, it's what the do! For all of the shit heaped upon him to drive him to that!

He could have quit, walked away and no-one would have thought any less of him.

In dreams begin responsibilities.

A life at sea, that's for me, only I just don't have the BREAD. That's right, Theme Thursday yet again and I post a photo of a yacht dicking about in Bass Strait just off Wynyard. The problem is, I am yet again stuck at work, slogging away, because I knead need the dough . My understanding is that it is the dough that makes the BREAD. And it is the BREAD that buys the yacht. On my salary though, I will be lucky to have enough dough or BREAD for a half dozen dinner rolls. Happy Theme Thursday people, sorry for the rush.
