You never understand a point until you fail to explain it to the child.

One of the great things about the camera I got for Christmas is the shutter speed option. It makes photographing the toddler all the more easier! Here he is doing laps inside the Henry Jones IXL building. It's a lovely spot, and they've done a great job transforming the old jam factory into a la-de-da yuppie hotspot, but fair dinkum whoever is in charge of the cafe in there needs to work on their customer service!

BAH!

The look of apprehension on the childs' face as he is about to bolt. How big a head start did you give him before giving chase? What a classic shot. Oh for a camera when you and your brother were young. That's right we had one, however it took forever to use up the film and get them developed. The moment was over. Pity.

Roddy, you need a time machine!

Candie, you do get to keep learning things as they ask you to explain them. I know a lot more about astronomy than I ever did before!

It is surprising how much ridiculous stuff is in our heads. All it takes to find is a childs; "But why daddy"?
Unless of course you are their Mum. Thank god mums take the bulk of the questions.

Roddy, I had to explain tidal movements yesterday.

Did you tell him that it is to do with the moon. Or does that become too complicated? I'm sure I can find a book explaining that. What about the one on astronomy that I bought him last time home?

Roddy, I have endeavoured to explain it.
