Looking again at your list of pets. Any or all would probably suit your two sons. Ezra however could be a little rough, so get ones that have been brought up with kids. Also ones that are used to small enclosures as I don't believe your backyard will give them sufficient room to move. Daily walks would be mandatory.

I like to see dolphins and pilot whales. And some weeks ago we saw a grizzly bear near our tent in the wilderness of Yellowstone. This moments are so amazing.
