Ummm. A quick flick over to analytics and I've come up with The Top Five Countries That Stop By And Pay A Visit To This Here Blog That I Have Chosen To Title This Will Hurt Me...!


  1. A surprise to me is the prevalence of the denizens of the Dominion of Canada. When not hunting moose or harassing polar bears, it seems that the Canuks are clicking on Hank and Ez!

  2. Less surprising with a strong fourth place are the gut volk of die Bundesrepublik Deutschland! Alles klar everybody!

  3. Just pipping the canny Krauts are the proud citizens of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It what must be said is a pretty poor showing from the poms. Lift your game chaps!

  4. In something of a shock, those of us here in the Commonwealth of Australia have been beaten out to second place. What is more, it wasn't even close. At less than half the hits of the runaway winner, the plucky upstarts from the land down under take second with daylight third.

  5. With little surprise, the winner and reigning champion of the hotly contested This Will Hurt Me... sweepstakes is the self-styled leader of the free world, the United States of America! Congratulations yanks!


Rounding out the ten are the decidedly odd mix of: 6: République Française; 7: Bhārat Gaṇarājya; 8: Latvija; 9: Российская Федерация; and 10: het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden.

A good bunch of countries to be visited by. I wager that a not-so-deep analysis of those stats might somewhat align with the prevalence of internet users by nationality.

Latvia seems to be punching above its weight with the visiting of Tasmanian blogs - 7th on my list. I wonder where those from the other Baltics tend to like reading about?

Smudgeon, maybe the Lithuanians and Estonians route through Latvia? As a former Secretary of the Lithuanian Studies Society at UTas, I am disappointed that they have not come forward with their support.

Yes it is Theme Thusday again, and today we are talking GLASS . I've three possible hooks to hang my [glass] hat on with this theme. First, the photo! Theme Thursday again, and this one is rather easy. I am Tasmanian, you see, and aside from being all around general geniuses - as I have amply described previously - we are also very familiar with the concept of WATER. Tasmania is the ONLY island state of an ISLAND continent. That means, we're surrounded by WATER. That should help explain why I take so many photographs of water . Tasmania was for a long time the place where the British (an island race terrified of water) sent their poor people most vile and horrid criminals. The sort of folk who would face the stark choice of a death sentence , or transportation to the other end of the world. Happy anniversary baby, got you on my mind

No it is not a webcam, but this photograph was taken a mere forty-five ago on my way in to work. Here you can see a good old fashioned Hobart autumn morning, with the rain pelting down and me getting drenched.
