The guinea pig - Cavia porcellus - is also called the cavy. Despite their name, these animals are not pigs, nor are they from Guinea.

Guinea pigs are high in protein and low in fat and cholesterol. As versatile as an egg, they are excellent fried, broiled, roasted or presented in a casserole or a fricassee.

Ezra would very much like his own guinea pig.

Just remember, if Ezra gets a guinea pig you will have to feed and water it and anything else that comes with owning a pet

I know she will.

Ezra is a wise kid. Go for the furry mammal right away and avoid the ever expiring goldfish, the docile geckos, the messy fragile birds, the very smelly hamsters.

My daughters went through the guinea pig phase and then when I had to start taking care of them I quickly found someone who wanted them. But I never even heard of anyone eating them. Just sounds kinda gross because they are so cute.

God bless.

Tash, I'm letting them cope with patting OTHER people's animals.

Mrsupole, they are a tasty critter.
